WK08 — Development after Open Studio

From the comments I got from Open Studio, I came up with a new model of the website that I am working and develop more on the overall theme.

One of the suggestion I got is maybe turning it into a time capsule. I got an idea of sending scheduled email to the future. I found many platforms playing with the idea of leaving message to yourself in the future and I think I could adapt this idea to my work.

This is my original model which include account registration then the quiz, archive and legacy feature. With the new idea, I think I could replace the archive part with the email sending function.

This way I can make it into one-play and cut off the registration part so it doesn’t need a long term database to make it easier.

And the image above is another new model that I combined the original one with the new one. It also doesn’t have the registration part. This one, after uploading a photo the user will go through the important quiz then arrange their stuff in the archive as the original model. But I would add the email sending part after the archive then sending to the legacy contact.

The time schedule choice for the email sending, I am thinking about 1 year, 3 -5 years or after 10 years. The best choice for now is in a year because I can play with reconsidering what’s important annually.

Next, I try to develop the overall theme to make it feel more homey by adding plants, sky, a sofa to add more sense of living. I also try to add green and brown to the colour scheme but they didn’t look much different from the old theme. So I should try using real photography as the main element for the website.
